Berkeley bassist and composer Lisa Mezzacappa launches a 3-concert residency at Bird & Beckett, to revisit and refresh older repertoire and compose a new set of music for the the latest incarnation of her stellar improvising ensemble.

This first concert will feature music from her Cosmicomics and avantNOIR suites as well as new music inspired by the speculative fiction of Samuel P. Delany, Ursula Le Guin, David Mitchell, and others.
