Jordan Glenn, drums and conducted improvisation with the participation of the students of the Conservatory “G. Frescobaldi” of Ferrara
Jordan Glenn spent his formative years in Oregon before moving to the Bay Area in 2006. Since then he began to collaborate assiduously with Fred Frith (with whom we also had the pleasure of hearing him at Torrione), Roscoe Mitchell, Ben Goldberg, Lisa Mezzacappa, Rhys Chatham, Secret Chiefs 3 and the ROVA Sax Quartet. He is the leader and composer of the trio Wiener Kids, Mindless Thing (a collaboration with the poet Jim Ryan) and the large percussion ensemble BEAK. At the Jazz Club he will perform both solo and with the musicians who participated in the workshop he directed at Torrione, at the head of BEAK: a multifaceted creature that insinuates itself between rhythmic stratifications, free improvisations and elements of conducted improvisation.
