In the centennial year of Italo Calvino's birth, Californian bassist and composer Lisa Mezzacappa, an inspired leader and one of the most interesting figures in the entire San Francisco Bay Area, brings together a new sextet of musicians to revive the compositions imagined for her acclaimed Cosmicomics project. The group juggles the most adventurous jazz and alienating electronic suggestions, intertwining them with the narration of Calvino's hilarious and at the same time moving tales of the origins of the universe.
