Nathan Clevenger: harmonium, percussion
'for david berman' is a ~45 minute, continuous piece, dedicated to the memory of the recently departed poet/musician/polemicist, David Berman. It is important to note that this piece is not a recreation of the music of Berman or his most famous band, the Silver Jews. In fact, it bears little if any direct resemblance to said music. No vocals. No guitars. Lots of abstraction. The implied sub-dedication contained in the title -- to Morton Feldman's 'For Philip Guston' -- is certainly a more useful indication as to the nature of this piece.
Admission is free and we will begin promptly at 7 PM.
