In "A Recomposition," Liss Fain takes the elements of "I Don’t Know and Never Will," a piece inspired by her personal letters from decades ago, and fearlessly reimagines them to examine how our connections with both people and memories give shape to our lives.

In returning to this intimate material with the desire to unearth a drastically different piece, "A Recomposition" is an act of radical vulnerability and honesty, an acknowledgement that our lives and selves are never settled, but are always changing. It invites the audience to write notes to someone who they would like to reconnect with, to ask questions and to find their own answers. "A Recomposition" combines elements of theater, contemporary dance, live music, and Liss Fain’s own presence as a performer to create a dynamic and intensely personal installation experience.

With choreography by Liss Fain, a completely redesigned installation by Matthew Antaky, and a powerful new interpretation of Jordan Glenn’s original percussion score. Performances by Liss Fain; dancers Sonja Dale, Megan Kurashige, Shannon Kurashige, Sarah Dionne Woods-LaDue; actor Jonathan Siegel; musicians Nava Dunkelman, Jordan Glenn, Jacob Felix Heule.
